YouTube's latest musical success story
is displayed in the fresh face of one young girl referred to, as the one to
watch. Georgia Waldron.
Her edgy image and iconic covers have built her reputation which doesn't summarise
what this girl is truly about: creating music. Determined to write original
material, Georgia spent time in London working alongside Elise Jones and Syco too
create her debut album due for release late January 2014. Her album named ‘Waldronater’ has been pre-ordered by
over 1million people in the UK, and her YouTube teasers which feature Elise
broke the YouTube viewing records in 24 hours, So its safe to say she is one of
the biggest pop artists we’ve had on UNCUT magazine.
Georgia and Elise talk to us about the
new album together and all the rumours about them on tour.
Your
brand new album, Waldronater is released on the 20th January. Can
you tell us a bit about it?
Georgia: Well, I am extremely excited as it’s my
first album, and the fact that Elise is on it too just makes this experience even
crazier!
Elise: We’ve worked really hard on trying to make
this album something new and something no-one expected. In a good way. We want
it to stand out and I just hope people like it.
You both have a
huge fan bass despite the fact that you Georgia have released limited material.
Do you find the expectation from your debut album exciting or pressurising?
Georgia: To be honest I’m ‘pooing’ myself, but it’s
silly not to be nervous. But I have the support of Elise and I’m just looking
forward to everyone seeing what I’ve (Glancing at Elise and smiles) we’ve been
working on for so long!
You two are being
compared too as the new Beyoncé & Shakira and Britney spears & Madonna,
how do you respond to these comparisons?
Elise: Being compared to people are big as them is
an honour, and if our duets can become as popular as there’s it would be a
dream come true.
How long have you
two known each other?
Elise: Well most people think we’ve only just
become friends through Syco (Their record label) But we went to a drama school
together when we was around 14, and stayed in touch since.
Is it true that
for Elise’s next tour, you will be joining her?
Georgia: Yes that is true. I can not tell you how
excited I am!
Elise: We have become great friends, so getting to
go on tour with this crazy girl will be so much fun, and I’m really looking
forward to it!
And lastly, can
you tell us anything about the tour?
Elise: The tour will start late November till
around August, we will be touring the UK first then moving into Ireland and
some parts of Europe.
Georgia: It’s going to be mad! Everyone who come’s
is in for a treat, we’ve got some amazing costumes to wear, special effects. It
will be a good 10 months!
Waldronater is out January. Tour tickets are out 10th January
